Day 3 - 8 july 2015 - INNOVER-EAST 1st International Policy Conference

INNOVER-EAST is an EU-funded project with its main objective to bridge the gap between research and innovation; between researchers and business; and between the EU and the targeted Eastern Partnership countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Ukraine) in the field of energy efficiency. The first step in achieving this is the compilation and validation of five national reports on the status of innovation in energy efficiency. The first results of the studies will be presented and discussed by EU and EaP experts during the one-day event accompanied by the introduction of some other projects aiming at increasing the level of innovation in the Eastern Partnership on 8 July 2015 at the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia. Participation in all events is free of charge. Seating is limited, however, so we ask you to confirm your participation as soon as possible. The Policy Event will be followed by the 2nd Project Meeting of the consortium the next day.

The Policy Event is also accompanied by a Horizon 2020 Info Day focusing on Energy and Environment and an EaP NCP Training Day on 6-7 July 2015 co-organized by the INNOVER-EAST, INCONTACT 2020 and INCONET EaP projects.

Horizon 2020 is the largest EU Research and Innovation program ever with nearly €80 billion of funding available over 7 years (2014 to 2020). Horizon 2020 is coupling research and innovation with an emphasis on excellent science, industrial leadership and societal challenges. The goal is to remove barriers to innovation, and make it easier for the public and private sectors to work together in delivering innovation. Horizon 2020 is open to participation from the Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine).

Thus the Info Day is open to all the researchers and stakeholders and one workshop especially targeted for the NCPs to inform researchers and local National Contact Points from across EaP about funding and mobility opportunities under Horizon 2020, and to facilitate their participation in European collaborative projects. In addition to give a general overview of Horizon 2020, this Info Day will provide specific information on the opportunities for EaP with a special focus on Energy & Environment. The following day workshops will be conducted on how to write a successful European proposal as well as on the technical and financial management of EU funded projects.
